On-demand Cloud-based Enterprise Search
An interesting discussion is taking place in the Enterprise Search Engine Professionals group on LinkedIn. The question asked is this: Is on-demand cloud based enterprise search a good value proposition for the future (with the recession and companies aggressively cutting cost)?
I have played around in my head with the idea of cloud-based enterprise search... Read More »
Twittering With Your Customers
Twitter holds a great opportunity for companies to engage in conversation with customers about their products and services. And search is a great technology for discovering people who are twittering about you.

The Future Of Social Search (Or Why Google Should Buy Facebook)
While we’re working on the big haul, have a look at Sidestripe. It’s a Firefox plugins that brings together Google and Facebook in something of a social search experience. Sidestripe indexes your friends on Facebook and parts of their profile. When you later search on Google, friend search results appear after the third natural result. It may be rewarding to discover friends who share one of your particular interests. Search on Facebook is not a very satisfying experience in itself. Social networking is on the other side not one of Google’s strengts. Perhaps a joint effort may breathe some life into social search?

Vertical Search better than General Search?
“Shoppers can better find and weigh their options on a shopping-focussed search engine than on a general search engine,” said Anuj Kanish, co-founder and CEO, Avake. “A user on a shopping search engine is closer to making a purchase than a user on a general search engine and therefore a vertical search engine offers a better conversion rate for advertisers,” added Ramna Sharma, co-founder and president, Avake.
Joongel, Internet The Easy Way
Exalead enters the US enterprise search market
Exalead entrer markedet for enterprise search, sent men kanskje godt?
